A technology has been developed for creating a 3D model of a face using one smartphone

Specialists from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh have developed technology to create a 3D model

faces using one smartphone. Typically, special equipment with many cameras is used for such purposes.

To create a 3D model of a person's face using new technology, you need to film it from all sides. To do this you will need to walk around the model. And do it in 15-20 seconds.

After this, the algorithms get to work. They separate a person's face from the background and convert a two-dimensional image into a three-dimensional one. All this technology requires time - from 30 to 40 minutes.

The system has already been tested on the iPhone X. Experts also used shooting in slow-mo. Thanks to this, they were able to get a larger number of frames.
