A tourist module may appear at the Russian space station

General Director of the Roscosmos state corporation Dmitry Rogozin during a meeting

The Scientific and Technical Council said that a separate module for tourists may appear at the Russian Orbital Service Station (ROSS).

According to the general director of Roskosmos, the state corporation will not engage in suborbital flights like American billionaires.

Russia, Rogozin noted, will developspace tourism in terms of the development of the orbital manned program. As an example, the head of the state corporation cited plans to launch young scientists who could conduct experiments on the ISS themselves if preparations for the flight are accelerated.

Note that ROSS will come to replace the ISS:the experts came to the conclusion that the operation of the Russian segment of the ISS after 2024 creates additional risks. This is due to the aging of a significant part of the station equipment.

In order to prevent the termination of continuousdevelopment of near-Earth space infrastructure, it is proposed to create a national manned space complex in low Earth orbit - the Russian Orbital Service Station.
