Scottish police published a video online showing a special device for extracting
The device, called "Cyberkiosk", is, according toessentially a desktop computer with special software. To extract data, you just need to connect your smartphone to the device via what appears to be a USB cable. After this, a panel appears on the computer screen where you can select what type of data from the device the police officer needs. This includes contacts, SMS, and media files.
The police claim that they do not get access to all the data, but only to what is needed for the investigation. In addition, data extraction is only possible by court order.
It is reported that this development belongs to the Israeli company Cellebrite. Its experts say that any smartphones, including iPhone, can be hacked.
