Continuous hemodynamic monitoring - movementblood through the vessels - can improve treatment and patient outcomes. But it is difficult to track these conditions, since the vessels have different lengths and volumes depending on the person.
The new device consists of an intelligentstent and printed soft sensors. A stent is a thin metal tube made of wire cells that is inflated with a balloon. It is introduced into the affected vessel and, expanding, is pressed into the walls of the vessel, increasing its lumen. This improves the blood supply to the heart.

Inductive coupling uses magnetic fields towireless power transmission. This is similar to wireless charging for a phone, smartwatch or other devices - they get their energy from the magnetic field generated by the charger.
