Acer attacked by hackers and demand a ransom

Computer hardware and electronics manufacturer Acer was attacked by hackers using the REvil ransomware.

They demand one of the largest ransoms in history - $50 million.

The other day, hackers announced on their website that theyAcer was hacked. They shared images of the allegedly stolen files as evidence. The attackers apparently had financial tables and other documents in their hands.

Acer said only that it “announced recentabnormal situations" to the relevant law enforcement agencies. The company also noted that it is constantly improving its cybersecurity infrastructure.

Curiously, the ransomware offered Acer a 20% discount on payment soon. After receiving the money, the hackers promise to provide a decryptor, a vulnerability report and removal of the stolen files.
