Chinese companies OPPO, Vivo and Realme are actively adding RAM expansion functionality to their smartphones.
How it works?
The new option will appear in the proprietary MIUI shell13, that is, it will be available after the update. Presumably, this will work in the same way as the competitors: several GB of internal memory will be used as RAM. Only in this case, apparently, you can add a maximum of 3 GB, which is also a lot.
According to the screenshot from the Xiaomi phone settings page, there will be just a toggle to turn this feature on or off.
The innovation should help budget smartphones withsmall amount of RAM so that they are more productive and can perform several tasks at the same time. True, some sources say that virtual RAM will only be available for devices based on the top-end Snapdragon 865, 870 and 888 chipsets, which already have no memory problems. Whether this will be confirmed - we will find out with the release of MIUI 13.</ p>
