10 years later, LG will release a new smartphone in the Neon series, but on Android

LG is planning to revive its budget Neon line of phones, but now with Android support.

What is known

The company has already used the name Neon formobile devices, but mostly these were regular phones in the slider or clamshell form factor. They ran on a standard operating system for such devices, and the last model in the line came out ten years ago. Now, according to Androidheadlines, LG has decided to revive the series, but in the form of budget Android smartphones.

Judging by the first raiders, the new Neon will receivea separate button for Google Assistant and an elongated 18:9 screen without a notch. In addition, the smartphone will have only two cameras - a 5 MP front camera and an 8 MP main module.

Considering that even Samsung is pushingin budget cameras with several modules, the solution is strange. Micro USB instead of a USB-C port for charging also raises questions, but at least they will be pleased with the presence of a headphone jack.

However, the insides of the smartphone remain a secret. So we will learn about the processor, as well as the amount of RAM and permanent memory only at the presentation. The new Neon may be presented at the CES consumer electronics exhibition in January 2020. It is noteworthy that Samsung, which is also preparing a new product called Neon, will also come to Las Vegas.
