It would seem that there are already enough cloud gaming services in the world, but Amazon believes that one more would not hurt.
Amazon
Luna
The company introduced the Luna service, which willcompete with the already launched Stadia, GEFORCE Now and the upcoming xCloud. Early access is already open in the United States, and you can sign up on the official website.
Like its competitors, Luna is multi-platform,and runs on Fire TV, PC and Mac, with apps available for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. Given Apple's dislike for cloud services, Amazon will have to work hard to persuade Tim Cook.
You don’t have to buy games separately, and the serviceworks with Luna+ subscription. For $6 per month (during the early access period), players will have access to a starter set of games, which will be expanded over time. For example, in the future the service will include Assassins Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6 and Immortals: Fenyx Rising. In addition, subscribers will be able to play on two devices simultaneously in 4K resolution and 60 FPS.
Now gamers will be able to stick to:
- Resident Evil 7,
- Control,
- Panzer Dragoon,
- A Plague Tale: Innocence,
- The Surge 2,
- Yooka-Laylee,
- The Impossible Lair,
- Iconoclasts,
- GRID,
- ABZU,
- Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons.
As with Google Stadia, Amazon is releasinga special controller for Luna that can connect directly to servers to reduce response latency. The Luna Controller will cost $50, but players will also be able to use a keyboard with a mouse or third-party gamepads.
