Crehan's report also shows that 400GbEit took only about three years to cover most of the Ethernet switching bandwidth in data centers, despite a limited number of early customers. In fact, 400GbE data center switching is only now gaining ground in the market in terms of the number of customers deploying the technology.

“Despite the fact that the share of the total throughputEthernet networking capabilities in data centers from Amazon and Google have skyrocketed over the past couple of years – it will likely balance out a bit in 2022 as 400GbE and 200GbE gain more mainstream adoption in the market starting with Meta and Microsoft earlier this year.” Crehan said.
