Amazon unveils MK30 delivery drone that can fly in the rain

What is known

The novelty has several key differences incompared to the already existing drones that Amazon uses to deliver goods. First, it creates less noise. Second, the MK30 can fly in the rain.

The courier drone is a hexacopter.It can take off and land vertically. The drone will be used to achieve Amazon's main goal, which is to deliver packages weighing up to 2 kg within 30 minutes of placing an order right to the customer's door.

The unmanned aerial vehicle will enter service in 2024. The courier drone was presented at the Delivering The Future conference along with the Sparrow robotic arm.
