AMD continues to steal buyers from Intel. Slowly but surely the “red” company is catching up with its “blue”

Prior to 2020, AMD never controlled more20% of the CPU market. According to the results of the first quarter of 2023, its share was 34.6%. This is a new record. The share of the Californian processor giant grew by 3.3% compared to the previous quarter and by 6.9% compared to the first quarter of last year.

Since there are only two processors on the marketplayer, then the share of Intel is easy to calculate. In the reporting period, the "blue" company occupied 65.4%. Consequently, the share decreased by 3.3% and 6.9% compared to the last and first quarters of 2022, respectively.

In the server segment, Intel feels much more confident, although in comparison, the share decreased by 6.3% year-on-year. In the reporting period, Intel supplied 82% of server CPUs, and AMD - 18%.
