AMD claims RDNA3 is at least 50% moreenergy efficient than RDNA2. However, as competitors increase their power consumption, the company has no choice but to adapt.
“Performance is critical, butEven if our designs are more energy efficient, it doesn't mean you don't increase the power level if the competition does the same,” said Sam Naffziger.
It has long been rumored that NVIDIA is significantly increasing power consumption figures for its upcoming Ada Lovelace (RTX 40) series.
The AMD Radeon 7000 series of graphics cards is due out "later this year."
