American promising helicopter will be made long-range

The United States is working on a promising helicopter under the Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA) program. He will be able to use

long range ammunition.

The US Army is currently looking for companieswhich will be able to provide long-range precision-guided munitions. Companies must complete them by the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2022. Then there will be demonstration shooting.

It is reported that the new ammunition will replace the missileair-to-surface class AGM-114 Hellfire. What its exact range is is still unclear. It is expected that it will be equal to the performance of the Israeli Spike NLOS complex. And this is more than 20 kilometers.

This means that the new ammunition will allow American helicopters to operate outside the effective range of modern mobile anti-aircraft missile systems.

The new FARA helicopter should enter service in the late 2020s.
