American startup Kelekona has developed a specially designed airship bus for 40 passengers

Many companies are developing flying vehicles, but mostly they are small

aircraft for a small number of passengers. But the American startup Kelekona went further and showed a project for an entire bus that can accommodate 40 passengers and one pilot.

What it is

This is a huge air taxi for long-distance flights, which, according to the developers, will be able to reach speeds of up to 531 km/h and cover the distance from San Francisco to Los Angeles in just one hour.

The model does not rely on huge wings,and the special drop-shaped shape of its body with a flat bottom and a rounded top. The vessel will be lifted into the air by four blocks, including two duct fans each, with adjustable blade pitch. The blocks tilt to provide what is known as vectoring thrust and move the bus forward.

To ensure flight duration, such transport requires powerful batteries. Kelekona says the lithium batteries will be quick-changeable, making them easy to remove and charge.

There is no real time for the release of such an air bus yet.
