American tanks of the future declassified

The US Department of Defense has declassified concepts for tanks of the future. They will have to replace the main combat

American tank M1 Abrams.

The US Army Ground Transportation Systems Center at Fort Benning shared images of the Optionally Manned Tank.

According to the concept, the first car will weigh 54tons and will receive a 120 mm cannon, 7.62 and 12.7 mm machine guns as weapons. The turret of this variant is similar to the turret of the Israeli Merkava tank.

The second car will be larger - 59 tons in weight. The tank can get a new gun of a larger caliber and a large long turret.

The third vehicle, Optionally Manned Tank, will be even larger - 64 tons. The tower here is similar in shape to the tower of the French Leclerc.
