An AI has appeared that writes music. He already has a debut mixtape.

OpenAI has announced the release of Jukebox, a neural network that can create original music and sing in

basic level. The program can generate original tunes in a wide range of genres and imitate popular artists.

Jukebox training was set-baseddata from over a million songs, including LyricWiki lyrics and metadata. This data takes into account the genre, artist, year of release of the song, as well as mood and keywords related to the theme of these songs.

AI's debut album includes several genres at once - pop, country, rock, blues rock, heavy metal. The album has six songs and a few more AI authorship samples.

Lyrics of the released songs are written togetherlanguage model researchers and OpenAI. For the most part, they are meaningless - for example, a song that mimics Frank Sinatra’s compositions begins with the words “Christmas is now, and you know what that means - it's the whirlpool time!”

According to The Next Web, despitesuperiority of Jukebox over other musical neural networks, the project is far from perfect. AI still lacks the skill to play a standard song with choruses and a repeating motive. In addition, Jukebox requires huge computing resources. Because of this, it is not yet possible to use the new OpenAI development in home or studio environments.
