An anti-aging medicine that removes senescent cells has been discovered

According to Makoto Nakanishi, professor at the Research Institute of Medicine at the University of Tokyo, 60 years ago the American

scientist Leonard Hayflick discovered that cells can only divide a certain number of times, after which this process stops, and aging cells begin to accumulate in the body.

Recent studies have shown that the division process can also stop as a result of DNA damage, oxidative stress and other factors. These cells cause inflammation and aging.

In the course of work, the authors found that forthe aging cell is vitally important enzyme GLS1. It is closely related to the process of glutamine metabolism. The enzyme is vital for these cells. Therefore, scientists decided to use its inhibitor (inhibitory substance) to destroy all cells that provoke inflammation, including aging.

The development was tested on mice:as a result, their kidneys began to function better, their serum creatinine and blood urea nitrogen levels improved. Changes also occurred in the liver and lungs.

The new drug, according to a professor at the Scientific Research Institute of Medicine at the Tokyo University of Nakanishi, the drug can enter the wide market in 5-10 years.
