An apparatus for collecting extraterrestrial objects appeared in Russia

Russian researchers have unveiled a new device that can collect even the smallest objects

of extraterrestrial origin. It was developed at the Ryazan State Radio Engineering University named after Utkin. This was discussed at the Federal Institute of Industrial Property.

“This invention relates to small-sizedresearch binary spacecraft (BSC) designed to search and collect nanoscale objects of extraterrestrial origin, accumulated in cosmic dust structures located in the vicinity of libration points (Lagrange points), ”the institute noted.

A new system can extract and use ice from lunar craters

The device itself consists of a tape on whichinstalled solar panels and microcontainers. In the upper and lower parts of the device there are tires that create an electric field, and it is this field that attracts even nanoscale objects. Moreover, these containers do not allow any particles to pass through - films provide her tightness. During collection, the device records the moment the container is closed.

The device does not waste energy - aftercollecting the solar panel stops working. After collecting nanoobjects, the solar cell is folded. Delivery to Earth is carried out using fluorescent and electron microscopes.
