An artificial intelligence microscope can detect cancer cells in minutes

Information about the creation of the latest microscope with integrated artificial intelligence appeared on the network.

A distinctive feature of the latest development is that it is able to detect cancer cells within two minutesafter the material has been collected.

We are talking about those cases when specialists, after removing the cancerous tumor, the cell material is sent for analysis. And if earlier in this case the results had to wait for several days, now, thanks to a design created by researchers from Rice University, it takes a few minutes. This was reported on the official website of the educational institution.

It is worth noting that the new microscope is capable of imaging relatively thick pieces of tissue with cellular resolution. At the same time, thanks to the built-in AI, the device is able to provide a depth of field five times greater than modern microscopes.

Most interestingly, the development is a completely standard microscope modified with a face mask for up to $ 10.
