The BMT Sparrow device is several times smallertraditional drones used for transportation. It autonomously controls its descent with an internal drum and makes fine horizontal adjustments with four small, silent propellers. It will work with a larger delivery drone that will remain at high altitude, releasing a BMT Sparrow like a lander.
Classic delivery drones equippedheavy, high-capacity batteries and powerful rotors to generate the necessary lift, making them large, noisy, and potentially dangerous. The alternative delivery system is equipped with its own small batteries and sensors that allow you to adjust the height and direction of the descent.
The developers report that the BMT Sparrow cancontrollably lower the entire cargo that the massive drone delivers from a height of 60 m in strong winds and up to 300 m in light winds. Such a system can be a safe alternative near vertical surfaces and in dense urban areas.
