An eyewitness filmed a small snake recently eating a larger snake. The footage shows how predatory
An unusual sight was filmed in the state of Georgia, USA.The author of the video is 82-year-old Tom Slagle, who was very surprised to find intertwined snakes near his mailbox. The meal was in full swing when Slagle began to write it down. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources later shared the video on its social media.
The footage shows how the eastern royalA snake (Lampropeltis getula) slowly moves its flexible lower jaw over the body of a much thicker rattlesnake (Crotalus horridus) - the head and part of the body of the individual have already been swallowed. Since the larger snake doesn't seem to move at all, it was likely killed by the king before being eaten.
It's hard to tell from the video how the snakes differ from each other.from each other along the length of the body, since one has already been partially eaten by the other. However, rattlesnakes are known to grow up to 1.8 m in length, while eastern kingsnakes have a maximum length of 1.2 m. The rattlesnake in the video is clearly larger than the kingsnake, suggesting that it is also heavier.
