An unmanned helicopter has been developed that lifts up to 50 kilograms of cargo

Yamaha has developed a more powerful version of the industrial unmanned helicopter Fazer R G2. New model

will allow optimizing industrial cargo transportation and delivery to mountainous areas, the creators believe.

The payload is one of the functionshaving the greatest impact on the efficiency of delivery operations, company representatives explain. In the new model, engineers increased the main rotor using rotors with a radius of 1.8 m (the traditional model had 1.56 m). In addition, the developers optimized the capacity of the fuel tank, facilitated the design of the device and replaced the battery with a lightweight lithium-ion one.

Change in aerodynamic characteristicsdesign increased the maximum payload by a third to 50 kg. The finished drone will be unveiled at the Drone Summit at the Kobe International Exhibition Hall on September 1 and 2.

The developers note that the device can operate both from radio control and in unmanned autonomous mode.

Solutions using unmanned helicoptersindustrial applications are used in the monitoring of infrastructure (electric cables and various pipes), for geodetic observations and security. An increase in payload can significantly expand the range of applications, the creators believe, including for ensuring delivery to hard-to-reach places.
