An unusual concept of a drone with a half-rotor engine has appeared

Blainjett Aviation, a startup that produces innovative aerodynamic engines, has announced the completion of

successful initial testsaerodynamic semi-rotor concept. The developers have confirmed its potential - it will enable the operation of faster aircraft with a vertical take-off and landing system.

The tests showed the new configuration's net positive lift and low drag during the climb/hover, cruise and descent/hover phases.

“If laboratory testing continues in the samepace, then our prototype with a semi-propeller configuration will have the most efficient hover and flight profile of all eVTOLs,” the developers said.

Let us remember that eVTOL is an aircraft model, namely an electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft.

Blainjett uses the half-rotor conceptto a small drone to demonstrate that the configuration can be scaled to larger unmanned or manned eVTOL aircraft. They can be used in a variety of situations, from parcel and cargo delivery to transport and tactical military missions.
