The Committee company, which owns the platform,confirmed the closure of the project. The short video service will cease operations on April 1, 2022. Until then, those Coub users who don't want to lose their favorite content will be able to download their videos from it.

Coub began operations in April 2012. A video hosting service founded by Russians allowed its users to post short looped videos, the so-called "coubs".

Earlier, at the beginning of 2020, Coub ran out offunds for development, so the platform came under the control of the Committee, and in December 2021 the company announced that “Coub does not fit into its development strategy” and decided to sell the service, but apparently there was no buyer.
