Announcement of Gigaset GS5 Lite: budget smartphone with Made in Germany sign

Gigaset - once a division of Siemens, but now 14 years old as a separate company - remains the only

smartphone manufacturer that sells themproduction in Germany. For this purpose, the same plant in Boholz is used, where many of the company's DECT radiotelephones are assembled. Today the company presented another new product with the proud sign of Made in Germany: the budget smartphone Gigaset GS5 Lite. As you can easily guess from the name, this is a simplified version of last year's Gigaset GS5. But what exactly has been simplified?

Just three points.Firstly, the amount of internal memory was cut from 128 GB to 64 GB. Secondly, wireless charging was removed. And thirdly, they changed the design, abandoning the glass back panel. However, it remains removable, providing access to replacing the 4500 mAh battery. The cameras have not changed either: 48-megapixel base, 8-megapixel wide with autofocus, 16-megapixel front camera. Other specifications include 4GB RAM, MediaTek Helio G85 chipset and 6.3″ screen with Full HD+ resolution. The price of Gigaset GS5 Lite is 249 euros (14,100 rubles).
