Announcement of iPad Pro 11 and 12.9 (2022) – gain on Apple M2

Apple, as expected, quietly revealed the new generation of iPad Pro tablets, which mainly focused

on performance. There are two fundamental differences – Apple M2 chipset with a 15% increase in CPU performance and a 35% increase in GPU performance (including due to two additional cores), as well as support for Wi-Fi 6E. Otherwise, we see the already familiar “tablets” with the same parameters 11″ and 12.9″ display with microLED backlighting, four speakers with Dolby Atmos surround sound, 8 or 16 GB of RAM depending on the edition and Face ID facial recognition system and body dimensions.

There is one difference regarding the camera – newiPad Pro can record video in ProRes format (a proprietary codec for lossless recording for later editing). The core remains the same: 12-megapixel main camera, 10-megapixel wide camera with a 125-degree capture angle, LiDAR scanner, 12-megapixel front camera. There is a set of software goodies, the ability to record video in 4K.

iPad Pro 11 and iPad Pro 12.The new generation 9 is available for pre-order today, October 18, with first sales scheduled for October 26. Prices start at $799. Only two color options available – gray and silver. Additionally, Apple is offering a second-generation Apple Pencil for $130 and a keyboard case for $300. We will inform you about the availability of the iPad Pro (2022) in Russia under the parallel import program as such information becomes available.
