Announcement of Sony Xperia 5 IV - a compact flagship with a large battery and price

Sony has unveiled a compact version of its flagship Xperia 1 IV, which offers the same design and most

technical refinements of that model. The two main differences on the Xperia 5 IV are a 6.1″ 120Hz Full HD+ OLED panel (instead of a large 4K display) and the lack of a periscope optic on the telephoto. But there is also a 3.5 mm audio jack with a full set of audio goodies, a dedicated camera button on the end that fans love, a waterproof case in a classic format with symmetrical indents and a modern set of wireless interfaces, including 6 GHz Wi-Fi 6E. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (not a plus) is responsible for performance, and a 5000 mAh battery is responsible for autonomy (impressive given the small screen).

Back to the camera, the Xperia 5 IV has four 12-megapixelsensors: three on the back and one on the front for selfies. There is optical image stabilization, a 7.5x hybrid zoom, and a 124-degree wide capture angle. The camera can record video in 4K @ 60fps, as well as slo-mo 4K @ 120fps. The front camera supports SteadyShot stabilization and screen flash.

Sony Xperia 5 IV is available in three colors - black, white and green. A single version is offered with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of ROM. The price is $999 in the US and 1049 euros in the EU. The prospects for appearance in Russia have not yet been reported.
