Announcement of the Gigaset GX6: a powerful rugged smartphone from Germany

The German company Gigaset introduced a new secure smartphone – GX6. It became the company's first product with

support for 5G networks and continued the linesmartphones produced at the Gigaset plant in Bocholt, and therefore bearing the proud label Made in Germany. The main feature of the device is a shock-resistant and dust- and moisture-proof case with a frame made of an alloy of aluminum, magnesium and titanium. There is MIL-STD-810H and IP68 certification, and for three months after purchase, the warranty covers cases of drowning of the smartphone. This is an extremely rare case when the manufacturer of a waterproof device gives at least some guarantee of its water resistance.

According to the technical characteristics of the Gigaset GX6noticeably more interesting than other smartphones from the company. It offers MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset, 6+128GB memory, 6.6″ IPS screen with a resolution of 2412x1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS and 1 micron pixels, an NFC module, a removable 5000 mAh battery with support for 30-W fast charging and 15-W wireless charging, a connector for headphone connections and three trays (2 x nano-SIM + microSD) without hot swap. The smartphone is available in two colors - gray and black with orange accents - at a price of 579 euros (32,700 rubles). The OS out of the box is Android 12, updates to 13 and 14 are promised, as well as 5 years of security updates.
