Antibodies that block coronavirus have been discovered in China

Back in early January 2020, several groups of Chinese researchers analyzed antibodies from blood

a patient who recovered from COVID-19.Then scientists isolated 206 monoclonal antibodies that showed the ability to fight the virus. Now scientists are focused on identifying the most powerful antibodies and, possibly, combining them to reduce the risk of mutation of the new coronavirus.

Zhang Linqi of Tsinghua University in Beijingnoted that a drug made using antibodies found by his team can be used more efficiently than current approaches to blocking the virus.

Scientists have confirmed the transmission of coronavirus from humans to cats

According to Zhang, among the first 20 testedantibodies, 4 were able to block the penetration of the virus, and 2 of them did it faster and more effectively than the others. Researchers published the results on the Internet and hope that within 6 months the antibodies will be tested in humans.

Earlier, the country's authorities began to publish detailedvirus statistics: a day in China, 130 cases of coronavirus infection, which proceeds without symptoms, were detected, but the test showed a positive result. A total of 1,357 patients without the symptoms of COVID-19 with positive coronavirus test results are known in China.
