Smart Battery covers must be replaced in two cases:
- the case does not charge or is charged intermittently when connected to a power source,
- The battery case does not charge the iPhone or charges it at regular intervals.
Smart Battery Cases are eligible for free replacementfor iPhone XS, XS Max and iPhone XR.The program is valid for cases released from January to October 2019.
The program does not apply to Smart Battery Case for iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro.
According to the company, there are no problems with the safety of the battery cases, while Apple is still ready to replace the failed cases with new ones.
All users of “problematic” Smart Battery Casefor these models of iPhones, they can contact the nearest authorized service center to clarify replacement details or Apple technical support. Whether the program will work in Russia is not yet clear.
If yes, the center’s specialists will carry out diagnosticscase, and if the problem is confirmed, Apple will replace the charging case with a new one for free. At the same time, as reported on the company’s website, the program applies to covers purchased over the past two years.
