Today Apple held its third fall presentation this year, where the first computer debuted.
What's special?
SoC M1 is made using 5nm technologyTSMC. The processor has 16 billion transistors (more than Apple has ever put into a chip), an 8-core CPU, an 8-core GPU, and a 16-core processor for neural network computing.

Apple calls it the most powerful evercreated chips. For example, it allows the new MacBook Air to provide up to 15 hours of wireless web surfing and 18 hours of video playback on a single charge. At the same time, the same Intel-based model promises 11 and 12 hours in these cases.

M1 has the highest performanceper watt, the world's fastest integrated PC graphics, and revolutionary machine learning performance with Apple Neural Engine. As a result, M1 delivers up to 3.5x faster CPU performance, up to 6x faster GPU performance, and up to 15x faster machine learning, while delivering up to 2x longer battery life than previous generation Macs.
In addition, with the new chip, the system wakes up from sleep mode as quickly as smartphones and tablets.

According to company representatives, theyoptimized all of their third-party applications to take advantage of the M1, significantly improving performance across the board. Developers will receive the necessary tools to create and optimize applications for both platforms - Apple Silicon and Intel.
The first devices based on the Apple M1 were the MacBook Air 2020, Mac Mini 2020 and MacBook Pro 13 Pro 2020.
