Last year, the European Parliament passed a law that obliges companies to allow the use of third-party application stores and payment systems on their platforms. But this law only applies to Europe, so this feature will not be available in other countries.

In addition, according to Mark, Apple will charge fees to developers who publish their applications in alternative sources, that is, not in the App Store.

The official announcement of iOS 17 is expected at the WWDC 2023 developer conference, which will take place from June 5 to June 9. But Apple is unlikely to pay attention to the new feature.
