Apple Adds Face ID on MacBook and iMac

Apple has filed a new patent that indicates that the company is operatingon bringing Face ID to MacBooks

The situation is similar to Touch ID, which was initially integrated into the iPhone before reaching the iPad.Now, it seems that facial recognition technology is following a similar path.

Face ID on MacBook and iMac

Patent Images Show Us MacBook Screenand iMac with a built-in top frame (like the latest iPhone models), which will include face recognition sensors. The patent emphasizes the privacy of users and how they store this important data on their computers. And how face recognition will help them keep this privacy safe.

"To prevent unauthorized users from accessing this sensitive data, these computing devices canenable systems and mechanisms to authenticate users," says Apple.

The patent also discloses how difficultembed this type of technology in a computer. This indicates that these mechanisms should be compact and thin due to the limited space available in the internal section of the devices. It also includes a conceptual image of the iMac monitor with a notch at the top of the display.

Recall that Face ID is not based solely ona camera that takes a picture of our face and AI. His method is based on TrueDepth technology. This involves the use of an infrared camera, IR and spot projector.

A spot projector emits a beam of light thatReflects 30,000 points on your face, invisible to the human eye, but captured by an infrared camera. An infrared illuminator allows this technology to work even in the dark.

Then the neural artificial algorithmintelligence supported by the iPhone A11, A12 and A13 Bionic processors generates a three-dimensional image of the face. It records shapes, volumes, smears on the skin and other biometric data. This card of your face is stored and encrypted in a safe place on the device. It is not sent over the Internet and is not processed in the cloud.
