Apple filed an appeal in court in the case against Corellium – 2 weeks after the peace settlement

Apple has filed an appeal in another lawsuit against Corellium after the company settled last week

one of them.

Apple has filed several lawsuits against the company,a security researcher on allegations that its iOS virtualization software infringes copyright. Now Apple has filed an appeal against Corellium's ruling last year.

The news came as a surprise given thatboth companies settled a major lawsuit last week over very similar issues. Although the terms of the settlement were not disclosed, Corellium continues to sell its iOS virtualization software.

While the media is trying to present the case in such a way,That the move has something to do with Apple's recent CSAM detection efforts, Apple is actively encouraging independent security researchers in the community to validate their security and privacy statements, and Corellium has happily accepted this call as part of its new Open Security Initiative.

Earlier this week the company said itapplauds “Apple's commitment to ensuring accountability to third-party researchers” and said its platform is “uniquely positioned to support researchers in these efforts”. However, Corellium chief executive Amanda Gorton said on the recent appeal that Apple cannot "pretend to be accountable to the security research community while simultaneously trying to make that research illegal."
