Apple began dubbing audiobooks on Apple Books using artificial intelligence

Apple has begun using artificial intelligence to voice their audiobooks.

How it works

Digital voices already available for somepaid and free audiobooks on the Apple Books service. These are mostly fiction - romance novels. At the same time, Apple itself did not make any high-profile announcements about this, and insiders say that the company planned to launch voice-over from AI back in November, but postponed it due to the hype in the media associated with the purchase of Twitter.

Currently only two digital voices are available:Madison and Jackson. And only in English. In the future, two more voices should be added to them: Helena and Mitchell. This type of voice acting is much cheaper and takes less time.

Now on Apple Books, in the corresponding section with audiobooks, it is stated that they are “narrated in digital voice based on the voice of a real narrator.”
