Gurman writes that when Apple introduced a newversion of CarPlay at the latest developer conference, it was more than a software update — it was a preview of one of the company's most exciting products: the electric car. The reviewer claims that the move follows Apple's pattern. Before a company launches a new category of products, it usually introduces something that serves as the basis for them. For example, in January 2001, Apple launched iTunes, and ten months later, the iPod came along.
Gurman also shared insider information aboutthat Apple is negotiating with supply chain operators for automotive parts and manufacturing in general. In addition, the company already employs some of the best designers in the automotive industry. Although people familiar with the project doubt that Apple will release a fully autonomous car in 2025, the company is still committed to a product announcement on time, Gurman said.
