Apple earns less on the iPhone? iPhone 14 assembly price estimate given

Apple introduced the iPhone 14 in September, which included four models. The series received strange pricing: in

US price tags have not changed compared tolast year on the iPhone 13, but in Europe, Japan and other regions they increased slightly (the official reason was inflation). The Asian portal Nikkei found that the cost of the iPhone 14 is significantly higher than its previous models, and the most illustrative example is the iPhone 14 Pro Max: the cost of the components of this smartphone was $501, which is more than $60 higher than the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The main expense item – A16 Bionic chipset, which is 2.4 times more expensive than A15 Bionic. Camera sensors have also become noticeably more expensive (and this already applies to the entire quartet). Nikkei states that Apple decided not to pass on additional costs to the buyer, but reduced its income (at least in its key US market).

Another interesting graphic – originiPhone components. The Cupertino company continues to reduce the share of Chinese components in the iPhone, mainly by switching to American parts. Thus, in the iPhone 14 Pro Max, only 3.8% of parts come from the Middle Kingdom (another 7.2% are made in Taiwan), and as much as 32.4% were made in America (versus 22.6% in the iPhone 13 Pro Max). Let us remind you that iPhones are assembled mainly in China, although a decent part has already been brought to India.
