Apple is working on a blanket and mattress with sleep tracking sensors - a “smart” sleep kit has become known
Apple is not the first to work on accessories that can track sleep patterns: Beddit and Withings are already producing sensors that can be used with sleep analysis mattresses.
In a new patent filed by Apple at the USPTO (Bureau ofUS patents and trademarks), company representatives say that many users are uncomfortable sleeping with smart watches or fitness bracelets in their hands. Applt's solution is to create bedding that can track users' sleep without disturbing them.
Unlike other companies that hostSleep analysis sensors under the bed; Apple suggests embedding sensors in a blanket or mattress. In addition, the sleep monitoring system will consist of accelerometers, electrodes, piezoelectric sensors and sensors for measuring movement and body temperature. The system will be able to track the time and quality of sleep of the sleeper, as well as propose solutions to improve it.
It is assumed that the sleep monitoring system will be able to work in conjunction with HomeKit to control the lighting and temperature in the room and create the most comfortable conditions for sleep.
The blanket and mattress can be synchronized withApple Watch, iPhone, iPad or Mac to receive sleep quality data directly to your device: heart rate, respiration, user movement and body temperature.
Also, according to the company, the blanket can be heated and cooled.
Whether Apple will ever release the announced bed accessories and what their audience is is still a big question.
