Apple has concluded a purchase agreement of 70 millionSamsung Electronics’s flexible organic OLED panels for the production of 70 million smartphones, unnamed sources told the Nikkei Asian Review. Such a large number suggests that the premium version of the iPhone 8, according to Apple's expectations, will be snapped up like hotcakes.
The order for 70 million panels does not mean that Apple will sell the same number of devices this year. This stock will be used at the beginning of next year.
Nikkei post also confirms that all threeiPhone 8 models will support wireless charging and be waterproof, although Apple is still working on a suitable cooling system.
