Apple paid developers to agree to block alternative app stores on the iPhone

The ACT Association, which positions itself as the leading voice of thousands of app developers around the world,

more than half of it is funded by Apple, but the company itself is not a member of it.Discuss

This was found out by Bloomberg. Four former members of the association said that Apple plays a dominant behind-the-scenes role in shaping the group's political stance.

Journalists note that ACT representativesregularly testify in Congress and defend Apple in court. However, the association's president said that claiming the group was pro-Apple "doesn't pass the laugh test." However, the ACT opposes antitrust laws that are designed to allow apps to be downloaded to the iPhone from third-party sources.
