The new stylus did not have three main drawbacks.
Firstly, it is magnetically attached to the iPad Pro, sothat you won’t lose it in your backpack. Secondly, the wire charging was replaced by a non-wireless one, which is activated as soon as you attach the stylus to the tablet.
In other words, the stylus always remains charged and ready to go.
Since it charges without wires, there is no need forLightning connector and in a cap for it, which is usually lost in the first place. In addition, it now automatically connects to the tablet. You can even touch the stylus to activate the tablet screen.
The touch part allows you to perform several actions. By default, double-tap switches the last Markup tool to an eraser and vice versa. However, you can change the action in Settings.
The new stylus is supported only by the 11 and 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2018, but not by older models.
The original Apple Pencil is also incompatible with2018 models. The only drawback of the new Apple Pencil is that it not only costs more, but also comes without a spare tip in the kit - now Apple sells them separately for 4 pieces.
