Apple supplier blabbed about an element that will disappear from the iPhone 15

The main surprise of the iPhone 14 line was not so much the “magic island”, which everyone already knew about in advance, but

refusal of a tray for physical SIM cards in modelsfor USA. Moreover, this was not the first deprivation, because earlier the company also got rid of 3.5 mm connectors, Touch ID finger scanners, and later complete charging units. It is not surprising that fans are wary of new simplifications from the upcoming iPhone 15. And it seems that the first strong evidence of this has appeared. This time, physical buttons may go under the knife.

Cirrus Logic, the largest suppliersemiconductor products and a key partner of Apple, published an appeal to shareholders in which it announced the continuation of “interaction with a strategic client” and plans to “bring to market a new HPMS component for smartphones”next year. HPMS are mixed-signal chips used in the Taptic Engine vibration motors for the iPhone. A little earlier, during a telephone conversation, the CEO of Cirrus Logic mentioned the release of this component in the “last half of next year,” which fits perfectly with the traditional fall presentations of new iPhones.

Finally, back in October, a reputable analystMing Chi-Kuo said that the iPhone 15 Pro models will be equipped with a pair of additional Taptic Engine modules to simulate pressing physical buttons. At the same time, the younger models will not be affected by these changes, which will only increase the already growing gap separating them from the “proekt” ones. Let us remember that earlier there was also a rumor about a redesign of the sharp edges of the iPhone 15 Pro in the manner of the plastic iPhone 5c.
