Apple supplier Foxconn to build US electric vehicle plant

Foxconn, one of Apple's largest suppliers, has announced that it will begin building factories to manufacture

all-electric vehicles in the US and Thailand this year and hopes to have them in service by 2023, according to a Nikkei Asia report.

“Foxconn, the world's largest contractThe electronics maker said Thursday it will build electric vehicle plants in the US and Thailand next year as a key iPhone assembler ramps up efforts to catch the growing tide of electric vehicles and offset the slowing smartphone industry, ”the report said.

Foxconn will initially use the American plant to manufacture cars for its customer Fisker, although it may expand production to serve Apple in the future.

According to numerous reports, Appleis working on building her own car and is presumably looking for third-party companies to help her launch Apple Car. One report vaguely mentions Foxconn as a potential candidate for Apple Car production, but Apple is also considering other possible suppliers. Apple reportedly aims to have the battery used in Apple Car manufactured in the US, but Foxconn does not manufacture batteries.

Revision gg I have already said that LG is clearly the leader among the suppliers of batteries for Apple Car.
