Apple will unite platforms for its applications only in 2019

Late last year, it became known that Apple was working on a project codenamed "Marzipan", which

will combine application platforms for iOS and macOS intoone. Using the new platform, developers will be able to create applications that will work on both Mac computers and iOS devices. This platform was supposed to be released along with iOS 12, but it seems that plans have changed.

Bloomberg's John Graber gets new infofrom reliable sources. Now it is known that the code name “Marzipan” was used only at an early stage of the project development, and now it has received a new name. As for the platform, special APIs are dedicated to it.

I don't have exact details, but it seems likeThe platform runs on special APIs. Now, instead of writing code for the button as usual, and then setting it up and placing it in the interface, you will need to use a new way to create the button. HTML is the clearest example. In HTML, you don’t need to create elements step by step, like paragraphs, images and tables - they are created using tags in the editor. Perhaps Apple’s decision to combine the platforms was influenced by industry trends.

Graber also says the project will notPresented at the 2018 Worldwide Developers Conference or this year in general. Instead, Apple will release the platform in 2019 along with macOS 10.15 and iOS 13. This information contradicts the Axios report, according to which the release is scheduled for 2018.

Creating such a platform definitely requirestime. Perhaps Apple decided to postpone its release until 2019, because the technology is still imperfect. This news will definitely upset many, but it’s still better that Apple take the time and bring the technology to the ideal.

In iOS 12, the company focuses on improving system stability, so it is not yet known what the main updates of the new version will be. Find out more at WWDC 2018.
