Google Play Store has become more stringent to applications that are allowed access to SMS and call log.
What is known
At the 2019 I / O conference, Google reported that over the past few months, the number of applications requesting permission to call and send messages has decreased by 98%.
The company began these changes in October 2018of the year. Now only those applications that are selected to send an SMS or make a call will require this permission. Google has also tightened the review process for new applications. According to the new rules, developers will have to wait longer before their applications get approval. Google stated that this should ensure high quality applications before they appear in the Play Store.
