Archaeologists have found an ancient Crimean water supply

Archaeologists in Sevastopol during exploration work found the remains of an ancient water supply system.

Several centuries ago, this water supply system functioned right in the center of the Tauric Chersonesos Museum-Reserve in  Sevastopol.

Recall that earlier, during excavations before laying engineering communications for St. Vladimir's Cathedral in Chersonesos, archaeologists discovered the remains of the ancient city square - agora.

Scientists not only found two drainage and water pipelines that ran parallel to each other. This find confirmed an earlier tracing of the area's ancient objects in the Middle Ages.

The deputy director of the Tauric Chersonesos Museum-Reserve in Sevastopol is confident that larger-scale excavations in the expanded area will allowTo find more evidence of life in Korsun. This is how the ancient city of Tauric Chersonesos was called in  the ancient Russian chronicles. However, archaeological research near the cathedral, including on the site of the ancient square, is possible if there areto pass engineering communications for the cathedral.

All communications in the square were laid in the antique or medieval period. Scientists have not yet succeeded in dating the structures more precisely.
