The fact is that the car was equipped with a newadditional protection kit 675-sb3KDZ. According to Defense Express, in 2021, Russia had about 100 such kits. And they started installing them on cars only this year. After Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24th.

Set 675-sb3KDZ consists ofanti-cumulative gratings and polymer panels. They must protect the vehicle from heavy machine gun fire. It is noted that polymer panels have “positive buoyancy.” That is, after their installation, the amphibious capabilities of the vehicle remain at the same level.
