Armed Forces of Ukraine turned the launch block for a helicopter with S-8 missiles into a multiple launch rocket system

Soldiers of the 28th separate brigade named after the Knights of the Winter March converted the B-8V20A missile launch unit

into a ground-based multiple launch rocket system.

What is known

The B-8V20A launcher is used in combathelicopters. The multiple launch rocket system, created on the basis of the launch block, was named "Thunder" in honor of the deceased commander of the brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign.

The installation is designed for S-8 unguided missilescaliber 80 mm. It has 20 launch tubes and is designed to destroy enemy equipment and manpower. The maximum range for launching missiles from a combat helicopter is 2.1 km.
