The authors believe that these nine stars received increased amounts of lithium at some earlier time. Eight of them
The studied stars have radii ranging from 0.89 to2.51 solar radii, and masses vary from 0.78 to 1.6, compared to our nearest star. The temperatures of the stars range from 4800°C to 5500°C, with the exception of the hottest star UCAC4 629-030411, its temperature is 6500°C.
Four of them, namely UCAC4 440-009448, UCAC4441-011058, UCAC4 451-011087 and UCAC4 606-009417 are young stars. Their lithium abundance exceeds 3.8 dex—about three times higher than the upper limit for young stars.
Astronomers believe that such a high contentdue to the fact that the stars rotate very quickly and there is an active accretion of circumstellar matter. The average rotation speed is 15 km/s.
Further studies are needed to confirm this information, the authors note.
