ASUS ROG Phone 6D Coming: MediaTek Strikes Back

Having gone through a thorny path, MediaTek this year was able to impose direct competition on Qualcomm's top chipsets by releasing

the Dimensity 9000 line, and then Dimensity9000+. The chips turned out to be so attractive that ASUS decided to use one of them as the basis for its ROG series gaming phone. According to informant Digital Chat Station, the company is creating the ROG Phone 6D, a MediaTek version of the ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro, introduced in July. The device will be based on the fresh Dimensity 9000+, and other characteristics will remain the same: a 165-Hz screen made by Samsung, a capacious 6000 mAh battery with 65-W charging and a main camera with a 50-megapixel IMX766 sensor. The source calls the device a killer version of the original ROG Phone 6, which could be a hint at a lower price tag. The release date for ASUS ROG Phone 6D has not yet been mentioned.
